Below are the step by step instructions on how to Video Chat with a Creator. For browser/device requirements, go here.
STEP ONE - ENSURE CREATOR IS READY:
In order to send a Video Chat request the Creator must have the feature enabled, and they must be online.
You can check to see if they are available to chat by going to their profile page. If they have it enabled it will appear on their page. If they are online the feature will be highlighted in green.
*Please note, you must be subscribed to a Creator in order to use any of the Connect features (Texting, Calling or Video Chat). Right now Video Chat is available worldwide, while texting and calling is only available for US users.
STEP TWO - REQUEST TO CHAT:
Before connecting you should ensure you have enough credits to meet the Creator's minimum chat time and price per minute.
Once you have enough credits you can click on the VIDEO CHAT section of the Creator's Connect dashboard to submit a chat request. You can request a chat time between the Creator's minimum required time and 30 minutes using the slider. To request a longer chat time you can use the input box. Hit purchase to submit your request.
Please note you will also have an opportunity to extend your chat time at the end of your original requested session duration.
STEP THREE - START CHAT:
Please keep in mind that each Video Chat session is one-on-one, which means it may take a while for them to get to your chat request. Creators do not have a time limit for accepting your request. If you are no longer able to chat please make sure to cancel your chat request. You will not be charged if your chat session has not started.
When a Creator accepts your chat request you will be notified by text (if in the US) and email (for all users). You must go back to the Creator's profile page to begin chatting. Don't forget to make sure your microphone is ON so that they can hear you.
If you are having trouble with Video Chat (can't see, can't hear, etc) - you can use the text box at the bottom left hand corner of the screen to communicate. If you continue to experience technical issues please send a request to customer support.
Once your chat starts you will be charged for the full amount of the original chat duration that you requested. You will be able to extend your chat time after that.
STEP FIVE - EXTEND OR END CHAT:
Once you have hit your estimated chat duration, you have the opportunity to end the chat or to extend your chat time by up to 30 minutes. You will be charged per minute that is used.
You have two opportunities to extend your chat time for a max of 30 minutes. If you prefer to end your chat session you can do so by clicking the X on the top left hand side of the chat screen, or you can disconnect by clicking the red END CALL button.
