Once you have enabled Video Chat and set your pricing, you are ready to begin! For more information on how to enable Video Chat, please click here. For browser/device requirements, click here.
STEP ONE - TURN VIDEO CHAT ON:
Turn Video Chat online via your Creator dashboard. This will allow Supporters to request to chat with you! As always, we recommend that you promote your availability to Video Chat through your social media channels or a Collide text post.
STEP TWO - REVIEW CHAT REQUESTS:
You will see all Video Chat requests in a queue on your dashboard (on the website) or under MESSAGES > VIDEO CHAT (on the iOS and Android app).
Supporters must request to chat with you for an estimated amount of time. The only requirement is that their approximate chat request time meets the minimum required amount of time that you selected in your settings.
You can accept requests in any order that you choose, based on how much time you have available to chat. Unanswered Video Chats expire after two hours.
STEP THREE - ACCEPT CHAT:
Once you accept the chat, the Supporter will be notified via a text and email notification. Please allow them enough time to go to your page and start the chat. Don't forget to make sure your microphone is ON so that they can hear you.
STEP FOUR - BEGIN CHAT:
Enjoy your chat session!
Supporters are automatically charged for the requested amount of time once the session begins.
If you are having trouble with Video Chat (can't see, can't hear, etc) - you can use the text box at the bottom left hand corner of the screen to communicate. If the connection is bad you should hang up before the chat reaches 30 seconds to avoid any issues with charges and refunds.
If your Supporter continues to experience technical issues, please direct them to contact support@collide.com. No need to troubleshoot yourself!
STEP FIVE - EXTEND OR END CHAT:
Once your Supporter has chatted with you for the requested amount of time, they have two opportunities to extend the chat time by up to 30 minutes. They will only be charged for the minutes that you continue to chat with them.
Below is the Supporter view.
If you prefer to end the chat you can do so by clicking the X on the top left hand side of the chat screen, or you can disconnect by clicking the red END CALL button. The below notification message will pop up. Make sure you notify the Supporter if you plan to end the chat early.
Please contact support if you have any issues connecting.
